Playtime and…of course…Music Camp

July 22nd, 2009 by Mommy

Wahoo!  Today was the last day of Music Camp.  Charlee and I went to Anamaria and Brodie’s house before class to play for a little while before we walked over to the church.  Both girls were a little tired this morning but got to have a snack together and play with playdough for a while…until they (Charlee being the instigator of course) decided to try a bite…yuck!

Charlee had a bit more fun today since we got there early enough for her to play with some of the toys that were out for the kids.  At the end of music camp the children each received a certificate and a small bath toy as a parting gift.  Another item to go into her box of memories…really that thing is going to explode before she even gets to kindergarten!

This afternoon looks like it’s going to be rainy so we are going to meet up with Anamaria and Brodie and have a playdate.  I’m surprised that they’re not sick of us yet…but we need to get our fill of friends in before I go back to work.

(*Side note…to all the ladies I’ve befriended staying at home with Charlee…thank you!  I couldn’t have done it without you.  Now you’re just going to need to play with us on the weekends. )

A Visit to Daddy’s Office

July 21st, 2009 by Mommy

Today was the second day of music class and it was the same as yesterday…not bad but could have been better. So in the afternoon Charlee and I went down to Buckhead to pick up a couple items and thought it would be fun to visit Daddy at work. As usual she was the height of entertainment to Jeff’s co-workers. Charlee kept herself busy by moving golf balls from the floor to the waste basket to a paper box. Hmm…I wonder if I should stop buying toys since she has more fun with random items. Probably not! It’s always nice to get to visit Jeff at work…and it’s even better to see the smile that appears on his face when Charlee walks into the room.

Music Camp and More

July 20th, 2009 by Mommy

Music Camp at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church started today.  I signed Charlee up because she always enjoys our other music class and thought this would be a great addition to our week…and it’s three mornings of activity…wahoo!!!  Although Charlee enjoyed seeing Brodie and Isabella, I think she enjoys a more upbeat and active class than this one.  Don’t get me wrong…it definitely gave us something to do…but the class is very calm and laid back and Charlee is just not that type of girl.

So…in the afternoon we went and played at the Riverside Park down by the river.  This past weekend they put in a new water feature area (complete with water mushrooms, spouts and fountains) for the kids to play in.  Charlee and I played on the playground for a little while and then played in the water area.  She had a blast!  Ahh…there are so many more things we want to do before I go back to work.  Here’s to trying to fit it all in!

Star Spangled

July 5th, 2009 by Daddy

Charlee had quite an eventful 4th of July.  In the morning she saw the parade in Marietta Square and she liked most of what she saw though the sirens seemed to bother her as well as the hot hot sun.  It was a good time for us to take her.  She had the cutest dress on all day to show her patriotic spirit.  We cooked out and thenwent to the pool to beat the heat.  We were determined to take her to her first fireworks show so she stayed up well past her bedtime and we went down to the Indian Hill Country Club fireworks.  Charlee had a blast playing on the hills in the fairway before the show.  We couldn’t tell if she was worn out or if she was in awe of the fireworks but she sat in Melissa’s lap the whole time and just watched the sky.  Here are some pictures of her in the starry dress and riding her all American Radio Flyer.

1st Trip to the Zoo

June 6th, 2009 by Mommy

Ahhh…Bank of America weekend. :)

Today we (and Grandma and Grandpa) took Charlee to Zoo Atlanta.  We’ve been working really hard to teach her animal noises…so far she has the Elephant down cold…it’s hilarious!  As long as the animals were moving Charlee had a good time…the reptile house of course proved to be a place of boredom for our active little girl.  Hmm…I wonder where we can take her next?

(I have video for this post…I just can’t get it working at the moment. I’ll try to get it on the site later today.)

Our Visit with Aunt Desi & the Girls

May 30th, 2009 by Mommy

We recently went down to Florida to visit Aunt Desi and the girls.  While we were there we checked out nearly every park within a 3 mile radius, saw Manatees (in the ocean!) and spent lots of quality time with the family…including spending a day at Aunt Marie and Uncle Bill’s.  Thanks for letting us stay with you ladies…we loved it!
